Very Good
The room was great, although the heating unit didn't appear to work & the light-up mirror didn't light up. Evening dinner was delicious and the waiting staff were exceptional. There was a good choice for breakfast, even for gluten-free products.
Breakfast was a bit disorganised as there was nobody on the front desk to take you to a table, which resulted in a long queue of people who didn't know whether to wait or seat themselves. We couldn't find any free table that didn't need clearing or resetting, so we cleared the table ourselves and then waited 10 minutes for some cutlery. There seemed to be a shortage of staff, which could have been the issue.

Wonderful
Spa. Breakfast. Restaurant staff. Walk around the grounds.
Would be nice if there were glasses in the room, and a mini fridge. Receptionist was a bit officious.

Pleasant
Does golf and two bars.
Showers where poor condition, shower soap empty, confetti from other parties left in the room and all over floor, walls dusty, no air con. Reception staff rude and abrupt,

Poor
Grounds and original building lovely on the outside. Good location with some lovely local restaurants. Stoke Mill steak night, The Wildebeast Sunday roast & The Recruiting Sergent, stunning menu & huge portions.
Very outdated and unloved inside. This hotel is not a 4 star and certainly not luxurious in anyway. The spa facilities did not meet our expectations and everywhere felt dirty and old, 3 ladies changing rooms for a complex that size made it uncomfortable for my children to change in private. The room and bathroom had the same feeling, not comfortable very basic more like a 3 star. The breakfast was hit & miss whether there would be anything. It was not kept replenished and you would have to wait, I asked for some gluten free bread and they never came back to me. Avoid the coffee, awful! Just very disappointing, we had expected a very different experience and felt as soon as you walk in the door you could be in a lower end style chain of hotel. The staff were certainly not rude but they didn’t seem happy and the vibe was off. Something missing for us so we left a day early.

Very Good
The restaurants put out good food and drinks. We ate at the bar and had a great meal in a beautiful setting of comfy sofas and plants. We played a round of footy golf, which my son loved. The pool was open late which was also great since we arrived late and wanted to have a swim.
The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, it was just a bit worn. The paint and mold in the grout of the tiles could be updated. Other than that, the room was a decent room for the price we paid.

Sound proofing was not great and the king room could have done with a king bed not two singles pushed together

Breakfast was good. Nice selection
Seemed short staffed.
Bed bathrooms felt clean but dust and dirt building up on ledges and panels of the doors. Very obvious!
Dinning area for breakfast again did not feel clean, tables and chairs. Dust building up on chair spars.
Awful smell of sewage as we walked through old hall to breakfast.

Very Good
The hotel was amazing, the golf driving range was fantastic, the staff was good. The only thing wrong was your singh post for the pool, and the gym was confusing. I saw so many people looking for it.
Morning breakfast was ok, So many people were waiting for food,as the buffet was empty. No sausages/no eggs. They didn't have egg scamble, which was disappointing.
